Former U. Va. student accused of killing girlfriend, Cockeysville native Yeardley LoveJury selection continued Tuesday in the high-profile trial of George W. Huguely V, who's charged with murder in the death of his former University of Virginia girlfriend, Yeardley Love. Love's death in May 2010 shocked the Charlottesville community in the quiet college town and made national headlines, leaving few unaware of the case.

Mosley scores 1,000th point as Terps win first game on opponent's court this seasonSenior swingman Sean Mosley scored his 1,000th career point and sophomore guard Terrell Stoglin scored 27 as Maryland held on to beat Clemson, 64-62, to win its first game on an opponent's court this season. After holding a 14-point lead, the Terps survived a late Clemson rally, thanks partly to the Tigers' missed free throws at the end. Maryland had lost five of its past six games entering Tuesday night. The Terps needed a win to pull within a game of. 500 in the ACC and to demonstrate — to the conference and themselves — that they are on an upward arc.

The deal that sent Jeremy Guthrie to the Colorado Rockies for two more right-handers increased the number of pitchers on the 40-man roster to 21, and the number arriving at the Ed Smith Stadium for the first workout on Feb. 19 could top 30 when you add in all the non-roster players who will receive invitations.

A Providence, R.I., hotel group has completed its purchase of the Holiday Inn Baltimore Inner Harbor hotel.
The Procaccianti Group bought the 365-room hotel at 301 W. Lombard St. for an undisclosed price. The company owns 61 hotels in 23 states with almost 17,000 rooms.
?We believe this hotel is properly positioned to benefit as the market continues to rebound and key performance indicators improve,? Procaccianti Group Chief Investment Officer Robert Leven said in a statement.

Dangerously Delicious Pies has signed a lease for a second location in Washington, D.C.
The dessert shop, which originated in Baltimore's Canton neighborhood, will occupy 500 square feet at Douglas Development's building at 901 7th St. NW in D.C.
The pie shop, from Baltimore entrepreneur and ex-rocker Rodney Henry, will open in April of 2012.
The shop also has a store at H Street NE in D.C.
Dangerously Delicious closed its Federal Hill location last year, and still operates a store on the Canton Square.

A developer plans to break ground later this year on a 70,000-square-foot shopping center next to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County.
Frankel Properties is developing the 10-acre project at Maryland Routes 40 and 715. A mix of tenants are expected to include a food store, convenient store/fuel station, bank and sit-down restaurants.
